Simple: early English versions of One Piece used 'Zolo' to avoid any possible legal issues with the masked swordsman, Zorro.

Zoro is called Zolo due to the Japanese pronunciation, which sometimes gets translated differently. It's just a localization quirk, no biggie!

Translation stuff! The 'r' and 'l' sounds are often interchangeable in Japanese, so we got Zolo instead of Zoro in some versions.

I've been a One Piece fan forever, and back in the day, the publishers chose 'Zolo' for easier localization and to avoid any legal drama with "Zorro."

Blame it on translation differences! Early English adaptations used 'Zolo' to avoid copyright issues with the character Zorro.
