Make sure you've got the latest version of Hay Day installed. Sometimes bugs get squashed with updates!

Could be the servers. Supercell occasionally does maintenance. Check their social media for updates.

I had the same problem last week. Clearing the app cache sorted it out for me. Give it a go!
