They actually didn't stop, they took a break! After the first season and a movie, a second season aired in 2017. Hopefully we'll see more soon!

They stopped shooting because the studio wanted to focus on new projects. Sometimes, it's just a matter of priorities.

From what I know, they needed more material from the manga to avoid making up their own wild storylines!

Basically, the anime caught up with the manga, so they had to wait for more source material to avoid crazy filler arcs.
