First, make sure your mobile data plan supports hotspot usage and your signal is strong. Weak signal = unhappy Xbox.

Check if your hotspot is using a 5GHz band. Some Xbox models only support 2.4GHz bands for hotspot connections.

It could be an issue with your phone’s carrier restrictions; not all mobile carriers support tethering for gaming consoles.

Double-check that your hotspot's data limit isn't reached. I’ve been there – my hotspot worked fine until I hit the limit, then nada.

Check that your hotspot is actually broadcasting a signal and other devices can connect to it first. Sometimes, just resetting the hotspot can do the trick!

If you're a Xbox player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Xbox gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
