Sorry, but no, a PS3 controller won't work directly on a PS2. Different consoles, different tech. You'd need an adapter.

Unfortunately, a PS3 controller won't work on a PS2 without adapters. The PS2 uses a different connector, so you'll need a special adapter to make it compatible.

Nope! Tried it myself, PS3 controllers don't plug into or work with the PS2. Best to stick with PS2 controllers for that console.
