A brief history of Snorlax

Snorlax is one of the most iconic Pokemon of all time, greatly due to its adorably sleepy personality. It’s impossible not to want to give it a hug or take a nap with it! The giant Pokemon known as the “sleeping Pokemon” and is said to weigh over 1,000 pounds (450 kg).
In the animated series, Snorlax was an insatiably sleepy creature with a cuddly personality, always getting itself and others in trouble with its sloth-like behavior.
Snorlax also played an important part in the plot of the Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue video games for the original Game Boy. In the game, a sleeping Snorlax blocks the player from passing to a new area of the map. To wake it up, the player had to obtain the Poke Flute to play it a melody. Once awoken, the player would have to battle it – and hopefully catch it!
Snorlax is also featured in the Super Smash Bros. video game series, but not as a playable character. Instead, it appears from a Poke Ball players can throw at opponents.
The Snorlax Pokemon Card
The Snorlax Pokemon Card has historically featured the adorable creature in its most predictable environments: napping in the shade, or gleefully chilling out around some food! The card is a Holo Rare, and typically has an HP of 150 with a colorless background.
It typically features attacks like Collapse, Incredible Snore, and Thumping Snore.
The Value of Snorlax
Snorlax is one of those rare Pokemon cards where you could walk up to someone random on the street, show it to them, and they would know its name. That’s due to more than a decade of appearances on television, movies, video games, and even as plushies at arcades and retailers worldwide. It’s not quite Pikachu or Charizard, but it’s close! You have to take this into account when valuing Snorlax – its cultural impact is really high and that matters!
