What is Backtrack in CS:GO?

Honestly, backtrack has saved me in so many clutch moments. It's kinda like having a little cheat that's actually allowed. When you're shooting and you know you should've hit them but didn't, backtrack swoops in and says 'nah, you got them.' Pure magic!

It's just lag compensation taken too far, imo. Makes fights feel weird sometimes.

Backtrack in CS:GO is like a time machine for bullets. It lets you hit an enemy in a spot they were in a few moments ago, not where they are right now. Basically, if your aim was a bit off timing-wise, but you would've hit them if they hadn't moved, backtrack makes it possible to still land that shot. It's all about the game compensating for lag, giving you a window of milliseconds to 'correct' your shot based on where the server remembers the player being.
