Gengar, the spooky ghost type, hangs around the most at night in the area near the north of the map, specifically around the abandoned buildings in the northwest of the Paldea region. Remember, Gengar loves the dark and spookier places, so that's your best bet!

I caught mine in a totally random encounter near some ruins at night! It seems like Gengar doesn't stick to one spot. Keep roaming around eerie places when the moon's out.
