Why is Pokemon Scarlet and Violet so laggy?
Best answer
TechGuru91
Performance issues in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet can stem from the ambitious open-world design that's pretty demanding on the Nintendo Switch's hardware. The games are doing a lot at once - rendering vast landscapes, weather effects, and all those Pokemon roaming around! It's a lot for the Switch to handle, which can lead to some lag.

It's their first shot at open-world on a scale like this. Give Game Freak a break! They might patch it up in future updates.

Just bad optimization, IMO. These games should've run smoother on the Switch.

I've played both, and yeah, they can get choppy at times. But I noticed it helps to restart the game or the Switch itself when it gets too bad. Seems like it clears up some of the lag for a while!
