Are no-scopes in CS:GO based on skill or luck?

No-scoping in CS:GO is definitely a mix of both skill and luck. But, leaning more on the luck side, especially with rifles like the AWP. It's all about knowing the general direction and hoping the RNG gods are in your favor. However, there's still skill involved in positioning and timing.

As someone who's pulled off some pretty insane no-scopes in my time, I can say it feels more like luck when it happens. Sure, you get better at predicting where to aim, but at the end of the day, you're firing without aiming and hoping for the best.

Luck, 100%. If you're aiming down the sights, that's skill. No-scoping is just hoping the bullet hits.

It's all skill, no question! You gotta understand the weapon you're using, its accuracy, and how it behaves. A pro player will still have a better chance at landing a no-scope than a complete newbie because they understand the mechanics better. Luck plays a part, sure, but skill is key.
