Can You Rename Traded Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet?

Nope, you can't rename Pokemon that you've received through trades in Pokemon Scarlet or Violet. The original trainer's nickname sticks with the Pokemon to preserve the bond they shared. Kinda sweet when you think about it, but a bummer if you're stuck with a Pikachu named 'SparkyBoi.'

Tried and tested, my friends. Received a Gengar named 'Cuddlebug' and nope, renaming was a no-go. Makes for a good story, though!

Gotta live with it. Traded Pokemon names are locked in for life. It's just one of those things.

Absolutely not. It's a rule as old as time (or at least as old as Pokemon games) - traded Pokemon keep their original names to maintain the connection to their previous trainer. So, you better love that 'Fluffy' forever.
