Been doing 1v1s with my mates for ages. The real skill test is setting the game up without messing up the commands. Once you've got it down, it's the best way to settle who's buying the pizza on game night.

Setting up a 1v1 in CS:GO is like making your own mini-tournament with a buddy! First off, you gotta select 'Play with Friends' from the main menu. Then, invite your friend to the lobby. Change the game settings to 'Private Match' and select the map you wanna duel on. Once you're in the game, open the console and type 'exec gamemode_competitive' to set the game to competitive mode. Now, to make it a true 1v1, you can type 'mp_limitteams 1' and 'mp_autoteambalance 0' so no one else joins. Finally, 'mp_restartgame 1' will restart the game, and you're good to go! May the best player win!

Literally just invite your friend to a lobby, go private, and blast each other away on your chosen map. Why complicate it?
