Ever wondered how to step into a whole new world in Minecraft? Let’s talk about building a portal that can take you there!

Building a portal in Minecraft is like opening a door to exciting new places. But how exactly do you do it?

Quick Steps to Your Own Minecraft Portal

To create a portal in Minecraft, you’ll need some obsidian blocks and a flint and steel. Obsidian is a tough block that can only be mined with a diamond or netherite pickaxe.

First, you need to arrange the obsidian blocks in a rectangular frame, standing 4 blocks tall and 5 blocks wide. Then, with your flint and steel in hand, ignite the inside of the obsidian frame. Voila! The portal comes to life, shimmering and ready to transport you to the Nether or the End, depending on the portal type you’ve constructed.
