To catch Tyranitar in Pokemon Violet, you'll need to hone your patience, 'cause this is a rare find! Tyranitar is not someone you just bump into while strolling through the early game. You'll have to progress significantly in the game until you can access areas where Tyranitar spawns. Usually, it hangs out in more challenging, later-game zones. Keep an eye on the mountainous or rocky areas, as those are Tyranitar’s favorite. And remember, always be prepared for a tough battle - Tyranitar is no pushover!

Caught my Tyranitar near a cave in a late-game area! It was a tough catch, needed a bunch of Ultra Balls, but totally worth it. Be ready for a real battle; this Pokémon doesn't give up easily.
