Ever wondered how to make those shiny beacons work in Minecraft? You’re in the right place! Beacons in Minecraft are not just shiny blocks; they can grant you special powers like speed, jump boost, and more. Let’s dive into how to get these magical squares beaming.

So, how do you really make a beacon light up and start working its magic in Minecraft? It’s all about the base… literally!

Setting Up Your Beacon for Success

First things first, you need a beacon block. You can get this precious item by defeating the Wither boss, which drops a Nether Star. Combine this with glass and obsidian in a crafting table, and voila, you’ve got yourself a beacon!

But a beacon alone won’t do much. You need to build a pyramid base for it made out of iron, gold, diamond, emerald, or netherite blocks. The base can be 1 to 4 layers tall; the taller the pyramid, the more powers your beacon will have.

Lighting Up Your Beacon

Once your pyramid base is ready, place the beacon on the top center. Then, jump into the beacon’s GUI by right-clicking on it. You’ll need to feed it 1 iron ingot, gold ingot, emerald, diamond, or netherite ingot to ‘fuel’ it. Choose your desired primary power and, if your pyramid is tall enough, a secondary power. After you’ve made your selections, hit the check mark, and your beacon will start shining, granting you the powers you chose!

Remember, the beacon needs a clear view of the sky to work. So, no blocks directly above it!
