It's all over the place honestly, but expect a few thousand steps minimum. And hatch rates feel slower than watching paint dry without Flame Body in your party.

The number of steps it takes to hatch an egg in Pokémon Violet (and Scarlet) depends on the Pokémon species inside the egg. Generally, it ranges from around 2,000 to over 10,000 steps. Using a Pokémon with the Flame Body or Steam Engine ability as the lead in your party can halve the number of steps needed!
