I found that disabling the Steam Overlay can make alt-tabbing out of games like CS:GO a bit quicker. To do this, right-click on CS:GO in your Steam library, go to 'Properties,' and uncheck 'Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game.' Might not be a game-changer, but every little bit helps!
