Honestly? Just memorize the buy menu. It's faster in the long run and you won't waste a bind.

Easy peasy! Just open the console (`~` key) and type `bind "key" "buy vesthelm"` if you've got enough cash for helmet and armor, or `bind "key" "buy vest"` for armor only. Replace "key" with whatever key you want to use - F1, F2, etc. Now, every time you press that key, you'll automatically buy armor if you've got the dough. Handy, right?
