How to change CS:GO resolution in files

To change your CS:GO resolution directly in the files, you gotta dive into the config.cfg file. This little treasure trove is usually found in your CS:GO folder, specifically within the 'cfg' folder. Its path often looks something like this: Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo\cfg. Open 'config.cfg' with a text editor like Notepad. Look for lines that say 'width' and 'height' and change them to your desired resolution numbers. For example, 'width 1920; height 1080' for full HD. Make sure to save your changes before jumping back into the game to see the difference!

Just right-click CS:GO in Steam, go to Properties -> Set Launch Options, and type in '-w 1920 -h 1080', swapping out '1920' and '1080' with your desired resolution. Quick and dirty, no need to mess with files!

Editing game files can be messy. Stick to in-game settings for changing resolution or use the Steam launch options. Safer and easier.
