How to change CS:GO resolution outside of the game?

Easy! Just right-click on your desktop and open 'NVIDIA Control Panel' (or AMD equivalent for those guys). Go to 'Adjust desktop size and position' under 'Display'. Here, you can set the resolution. When you launch CS:GO, it'll match the desktop resolution. Handy if the game's being fussy and won't let you adjust in-game.

Actually, there's a simpler way. Right-click CS:GO in your Steam library, go to 'Properties', then 'Set Launch Options'. Type in '-w [width] -h [height]', replacing [width] and [height] with your desired resolution numbers. Like '-w 1920 -h 1080' for 1080p. Launch the game, and voilà, resolution changed!

I changed my resolution using the launch options method, and it worked like a charm! Super easy and lets you bypass the in-game settings if they're giving you trouble.

Why bother? CS:GO looks best at its recommended settings. Messing with resolution outside the game just complicates things.
