How to change field of view in CS:GO

Changing your field of view (FOV) in CS:GO isn't as straightforward as in other games because the game doesn't offer a direct FOV slider in the options menu. However, you can change the viewmodel FOV, which affects how much of your gun and arms you see on screen. To do this, you need to enable the developer console in the game settings. Once that's done, open it by pressing ` or ~ on your keyboard and type 'viewmodel_fov X', where X is a number from 54 to 68 (the default is 60). Play around with this setting until you find a view that works best for you!

Actually, you can't technically change the FOV in CS:GO like you can in other FPS games. Only the viewmodel FOV can be adjusted, which isn't exactly the same thing. So, if you're looking to get a wider peripheral vision… sorry, no dice!

Pro tip: If you're really looking to tweak how CS:GO looks and feels, apart from messing with the viewmodel FOV, dive into the aspect ratio settings. Changing from a 16:9 to a 4:3 aspect ratio, for instance, could make models appear larger (though it technically doesn’t increase your FOV). It's all about finding what's comfortable for your playstyle.
