How to Change FOV on CS:GO

Sadly, you can't change your FOV in the classic sense in CS:GO like you can in some other games. But, you can change the viewmodel positioning of your gun, which kinda gives the illusion of changing your FOV. Just type "viewmodel_fov" into the console, followed by a number between 54 (to zoom it in more) and 68 (to zoom it out). Remember, though, this only changes how your gun looks, not your actual field of view around the map.

If you're looking to change your FOV because you feel like you're not seeing enough of the map, try adjusting your resolution or aspect ratio instead. Some players find playing on a 4:3 aspect ratio stretched to full screen gives them a 'wider' feel, making it easier to spot enemies. Not exactly changing FOV, but it's a workaround that some swear by.

As a long-time CS:GO player, I actually tweaked my viewmodel settings to make my gun appear smaller, and it felt like it improved my visibility. It's not true FOV adjustment, but it does help. Dive into those console commands and play around!

Honestly, fussing over FOV in CS:GO is a waste of time. Focus on improving your aim and learning the maps. That'll help you way more.
