Honestly, just set it to classic. 'viewmodel_presetpos 3' will make your life easier and your game look cleaner. Sometimes simplicity wins, folks.

Changing your viewmodel in CS:GO through the console is pretty straightforward. First, enable the developer console from the game settings. Then, press the '~' key to open it. Once you've got the console open, you can use the 'viewmodel_offset_x', 'viewmodel_offset_y', and 'viewmodel_offset_z' commands to adjust your viewmodel's position. For example, typing 'viewmodel_offset_x 2.5' would move your weapon closer to the center of your screen. Play around with the values to find what works best for you!

The other answers are great, but don't forget about viewmodel_fov! You can adjust the field of view of your weapon to make it look closer or farther away. Just type 'viewmodel_fov 68' (or any number between 54 to 68) into the console to find what's most comfortable for your gameplay.
