Easier way: Just hit shift+tab to open the Steam overlay in-game, click on your profile name at the top right corner, and change your Steam profile name. This changes your in-game name too, no need to mess with the console!

Changing your name in CS:GO NoSteam is pretty straightforward. Just open the console during a game by pressing the tilde key (~), then type 'name' followed by the desired nickname in quotation marks. For example, if you wanna be called 'FlashBangMaster', you'd type name "FlashBangMaster". Hit enter, and voila, your new alias is ready to shine.

Honestly, just keep the name your mom gave you. Names are overrated in CS:GO anyway.

Console commands for the win. Open it, type 'name [your_new_name]' and you're good. I did it and became 'HeadshotHoudini' in no time. It’s fun trying out different names until you find the one that really speaks to you. And yes, it works on NoSteam versions too, just make sure you're not in a server that restricts name changes.
