How to Clip CS:GO Demos

If you're into something quicker and less DIY, just use a screen recording software like OBS Studio or ShadowPlay while replaying the demo. It’s like pointing a camera at your screen - super straightforward. Play the demo, hit record on the software, and you've got your clip ready to share, no stitching required!

Why bother with in-game tools? Just hit that record button on OBS and go. Easy.

First up, to clip your CS:GO demos, you're gonna need to dive into the game and hit up the 'Watch' option from the main menu. Find the match you wanna clip, and load it up. Then, when you're in, bring down the console (usually the '~' key) and use the 'demoui' command to access the demo playback controls. You can play, pause, fast forward, rewind, and find the exact moment you wanna clip. Once there, you can start recording using the 'startmovie' command followed by a filename, and when you're done, use 'endmovie' to stop. Remember, this saves it as a bunch of TGA images and a WAV file, so you'll need software like VirtualDub to stitch it together into a video.
