How to counter Yawn in Pokémon Violet

Yawning isn't just for bedtime anymore, especially in Pokémon Violet! To counter the sleep-inducing Yawn, you have a few strategies. First, try switching your Pokémon out right after it's targeted by Yawn. This move only affects your Pokémon at the end of the next turn, so switching out avoids the sleep effect entirely. Secondly, using a Berry like the Chesto or Lum Berry can cure your Pokémon of sleep immediately after Yawn takes effect. So, keep those berries handy!

Been there, done that. In my experience, the best way to counter Yawn is to always have a backup plan. Having a Pokémon with the ability Early Bird helps since it wakes up faster from sleep. Also, moves that prevent status conditions, like Safeguard, can be a game changer.

Sleep Clause activated! Simply put, just don't let it hit you. Switch out or end the battle before Yawn puts you to snooze. Short and sweet.
