I tried like 10 times before realizing all I needed was to level up my team. Make sure your Pokémon are at least level 20 or higher and have a few Grass or Water-types. Worked like a charm for me!

Great Tusk can be a real beast but here's the strategy: load up on Water, Ice, or Grass-type Pokémon since it's weak against these types. Also, keep your team's level close to or higher than Great Tusk's to stand a solid chance. Don't forget to stock up on potions and revives, cause this battle might take a couple of tries!

Honestly, just trade for a high-level Water-type. Makes the fight a walk in the park.
