Just go to your graphic card's control panel. You can create custom resolutions there that CS:GO can use. Much easier than messing with game files.

Honestly, why bother? Just play with the resolutions provided in-game. It's less hassle.

Setting a custom resolution in CS:GO can be a real game changer, especially if you're looking to optimize performance or get that widescreen experience. First, you'll wanna head over to your CS:GO folder, find and open the 'cfg' (configuration) file with a text editor. Then, add the lines '-width [desired width]' and '-height [desired height]' to specify your custom resolution. Make sure you replace '[desired width]' and '[desired height]' with your actual values. Another way is right-clicking CS:GO in your Steam library, going to 'Properties,' hitting 'Set Launch Options,' and typing in '-w [width] -h [height].' Restart the game, and you should see the changes!
