I used to struggle with this ALL the time until I found the holy grail of fixes: disable Windows Game Mode and Xbox Game Bar. These Windows features are supposed to make gaming smoother, but ironically, they were the culprits behind my alt-tab agony in CS:GO. After I turned them off, switching between the game and my desktop became way faster.

Honestly, just get more RAM. CS:GO and other programs running at the same time demand a lot, and if your PC is on the older side, it might just be time for an upgrade.
