How to Fix Frame Rate Issues for CS:GO
Best answer
FPSGuru
First things first, lower your video settings. Drop everything down to Low and see if that smooths things out. Often, CS:GO runs better on lower settings anyway, giving you that slight edge by reducing distractions and enhancing performance. Plus, make sure your drivers are up to date, especially your graphics card driver. Outdated drivers are framerate killers!

TBH, most times it's just your PC not being up to snuff. CS:GO ain't that demanding, but if you're running it on a potato, even turning everything down won't help much. Might be time for an upgrade.

Check your PC’s power plan. For gaming, you want to be on 'High performance' rather than 'Balanced' or 'Power saver'. Might sound simple, but it’s a game changer. Also, verify the integrity of game files through Steam. Sometimes, a corrupt file is all it takes to throw your FPS off a cliff.

Ever tried limiting your frame rate? Sounds counterintuitive, but setting a max FPS can actually provide a more stable experience. Use the ‘fps_max’ command in the console to set a limit that’s just right for you. Stick with a limit just above what your monitor can display for the best balance between performance and visuals.

Actually, clearing out your background apps can make a huge difference. You'd be surprised how much RAM and CPU those sneaky little apps eat up. Close everything you don't need before launching CS:GO for an instant boost.
