How to fix very high ping in CS:GO

High ping in CS:GO? First, try restarting your router - classic move but works wonders sometimes! Make sure you're playing on a server close to your geographical location; playing on distant servers can hike up your ping. Also, check for any background applications that might be eating up your bandwidth, like streaming services or downloads. And, if possible, use a wired connection instead of Wi-Fi for a more stable internet connection.

Just plug in an ethernet cable. Wi-Fi is a no-go for competitive gaming. Wired is where it's at for the lowest ping.
ServerSage
Honestly, sometimes the issue is on the server's end. If you've tried everything and your ping is still sky-high, it might just be a bad day for the server you're playing on. Try again later or switch servers if possible.
FirewallFred
Check your firewall settings! Sometimes your firewall is overly protective and ends up blocking or slowing down your connection to the game servers. Making an exception for CS:GO in your firewall settings could help reduce your ping.
