How to force ambient occlusion in CS:GO?

Nope, can't do it directly in-game. CS:GO doesn't have an in-built option for forcing ambient occlusion. Your best bet is messing with your GPU's control panel settings.

Forcing ambient occlusion in CS:GO isn't as straightforward as flipping a switch in the game settings. However, you can try tweaking your graphics card's control panel. For NVIDIA users, open the NVIDIA Control Panel, go to 'Manage 3D settings', and under 'Program Settings', select CS:GO. Here, you'll find an option for 'Ambient Occlusion'. Set it to 'On' or 'Performance' based on your preference. AMD users can look for similar settings in the Radeon Software. Keep in mind, this might affect your game's performance depending on your system's specs!

I forced AO through my NVIDIA panel and honestly, didn't see much of a diff in CS:GO. Maybe it's just me, but the game's fast pace doesn't really let you stop and admire the shadows.
