How to Get Gengar in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

To catch yourself a Gengar in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you've actually got two main ways to go about it. First, you can catch its pre-evolved form, Gastly, which evolves into Haunter and then into Gengar when traded. Gastly can be found lurking around spooky or nighttime areas in the Paldea region. Once you've got Haunter, trade it with a friend (or a kind stranger online), and it'll evolve into Gengar during the process. The second option is a bit rarer but totally possible: you can find and catch a wild Gengar directly. These bad boys love to hang out in the same spooky areas, especially during the night or in foggy weather. Keep your eyes peeled!

Trade not an option? No sweat! Haunter evolves into Gengar through trading, but if you're more of a solo player, keep an eye out in the wild at night. I snagged my Gengar lurking around a foggy patch in the early AM hours. Patience is key!

Just trade a Haunter, it's the classic method. Anything else is overcomplicating it.
