To snag yourself a Leather Whip in Terraria, you gotta chat with the Zoologist. She’s kind of the Dr. Dolittle in this blocky world. Once you’ve filled out 10% of your Bestiary (basically seeing and surviving encounters with the fauna of Terraria), she'll sell it to you. Make sure your coin purse is heavy though; it'll set you back 15 gold!

Honestly, getting the Leather Whip is a piece of cake. Fill up that Bestiary a bit by running into all sorts of creatures, and once you hit the 10% mark, the Zoologist is your go-to. I had to grind a bit since I kept avoiding the more...interesting creatures, but it was totally worth it. Adds a nice touch to my arsenal and helps with crowd control when I'm knee-deep in slimes during a slime rain.
