Honestly, shiny hunting in Scarlet and Violet feels easier than in previous games. The picnic feature is a godsend! Use it to hatch eggs faster when you're trying the Masuda Method. I've hatched two shinies this way already.

Shiny hunting? Just play a LOT. Seriously, there's no shortcut unless you've got the Shiny Charm. Good luck, you'll need it!
