To farm Tera Shards in Pokémon Violet, your best bet is participating in Tera Raid Battles. These are special raid encounters where you can fight Terastallized Pokémon with other players. Once you've successfully defeated one, you'll be rewarded with Tera Shards among other items. The type of Tera Shards you receive depends on the Pokémon you battle. So, if you're after specific types, look for raids that feature Pokémon of that type!

Gotta disagree with everyone saying raids are the only way. Don't forget to check out the exchange shops in-game. Sometimes, they have Tera Shards you can get with other in-game currencies or items. Keep an eye out!
