Easy peasy! To get into passive mode in GTA 5, just hold down the Select button if you're on console, or the M key on PC. Then, scroll through the menu until you see 'Enable Passive Mode'. Click it, and voila, you're in passive mode. No more worrying about other players ruining your day!
