Auto-battle with the 'Let's Go' feature changed the grind game for me. Seriously, just toss your lead Pokémon out there while you're doing other stuff in the game or even IRL. It's like a little XP farming assistant. Just make sure your Pokémon can handle what they randomly encounter or you'll be running back to the Pokémon Center a lot.
