To headbutt trees in Pokémon Scarlet, you gotta use a Pokémon that knows the move Headbutt. Unfortunately, unlike previous games where Headbutt could be used to shake trees for encounters, Pokémon Scarlet doesn’t have this feature. You can still enjoy the animation in battles, though!

Tried headbutting trees in Pokémon Scarlet thinking it’d be like the good old days. Spoiler: doesn’t work. Miss those hidden encounters though.

Just to set things straight, you can't actually headbutt trees in Pokémon Scarlet to find Pokémon or items. That was a thing in older games, but not in Scarlet or Violet. Focus on exploring and enjoying the open world!
