Actually, you can also directly connect via IP if you're not using Steam. Just select 'Multiplayer' > 'Join via IP', and type in the host's IP address and port number. Make sure the host has 'Allow Users to Join via IP' enabled. Works like a charm every time.

Joining someone in Terraria is super simple! If you're friends on Steam, just launch Terraria, open your friends list, and click 'Join Game' next to your friend's name. If you're playing on console, make sure you both have the game open, then one of you can invite the other from the console's friend list. Happy adventuring together!
