Getting into multiplayer in Pokemon Violet is super easy and fun! First, you gotta have a Nintendo Switch Online membership. Then, boot up your Pokemon Violet game, hit the X button to open the main menu, and select 'Poke Portal.' From there, choose 'Link Battle' for battling friends or 'Trade' to swap Pokemon. You can also join or host a 'Union Circle' for up to 4 players to explore and catch Pokemon together. Remember, both players need to have their own copy of either Pokemon Violet or Scarlet!

Honestly, I think the multiplayer in Pokemon Violet could've been explained better in-game. Took me a bit to figure out that I needed Nintendo Switch Online first. But yeah, once you're set up with that, the Poke Portal is your go-to for all things multiplayer.
