To remove black bars in CS:GO on your Nvidia laptop, right click on your desktop and open Nvidia Control Panel. Go to 'Adjust desktop size and position' under the 'Display' section. Here, you'll find a scaling option, where you should select 'Full-screen'. Also, make sure to check the 'Override the scaling mode set by games and programs'. Lastly, apply the changes, and voilà, the black bars should be gone next time you play CS:GO!

Just play at the native resolution, lol. No black bars then.

I fixed the black bars by changing the game's resolution to match my laptop's native resolution in CS:GO's video settings, then adjusted the Nvidia settings like others have said. Worked like a charm!
