Honestly, just messing with files in CS:GO's folders is more hassle than it's worth. Use the in-game options and commands; they cover pretty much everything.

Easiest way? Just type 'host_writeconfig' in the console and boom, settings saved. Works like a charm.

Saving your CS:GO config is pretty straightforward! First, make sure you've got your settings just the way you want them in the game. Then, open the console (you might need to enable it in the game settings first) and type "host_writeconfig [name]" (without quotes and replace [name] with whatever you want to name your config file). This command saves all your current settings into a .cfg file with the name you've given, located in your CS:GO cfg folder. Remember, if you don't specify a name, it'll just update your default config.cfg file!
