Setting a custom resolution in CS:GO is pretty straightforward! First off, you'll need to right-click on the desktop and open 'Display Settings' to find out your monitor's current resolution. Then, you go into CS:GO, open 'Settings,' hit 'Video Settings,' and there should be an option to set a custom resolution. If your desired resolution isn't listed, you might have to tweak some game files manually or set the resolution via your graphics card's control panel.

Just edit your CS:GO launch options! Right-click CS:GO in Steam > 'Properties' > 'Set Launch Options' and add '-w WIDTH -h HEIGHT' replacing WIDTH and HEIGHT with your desired values. It forces the game to start with those dimensions. Easy peasy.

I don't get why people mess with custom resolutions. The default ones are there for a reason. Plus, messing with game files can cause unexpected issues. Just stick to what's given, IMO.
