Super easy peasy! First, make sure you have a Nintendo Switch Online subscription - can't do it without that. Then, boot up your Pokemon Violet game and hit the 'X' button to open the main menu. Choose 'Poke Portal', then 'Link Trade', and finally 'Set Link Code'. You'll enter a code that you and your friend agreed on (make it something unique!). Once you both enter the same code, you'll connect and can start trading. Happy swapping!

Just a heads up, sometimes it takes a few tries to connect with your trading partner using a link code, especially if it's a common one. Try choosing a more complicated code if you're having trouble connecting.

It's all about those link codes, but remember, a stable internet connection is your best friend in this process. Lost a trade halfway once because my Wi-Fi decided to take a nap. Not fun!
