Just change 'Battle Style' from 'Switch' to 'Set' in the Options menu. Makes battles tougher but way more satisfying IMO.

Turning on Set Mode in Pokemon Scarlet is super easy! Just follow these steps: pause the game by pressing the X button to bring up the main menu. Then, navigate to the 'Options' menu. Scroll down until you find the 'Battle Style' option. Change it from 'Switch' to 'Set', and voila!
