Nope! One of the coolest things about Pokemon Violet (and Scarlet) is the open-world format, which means you can challenge gyms in pretty much any order you fancy. However, some gyms might be tougher than others depending on your level and team composition, so it's all about your strategy and how you want to explore the world of Paldea!

Actually, it's best to follow a path. The game doesn't force you, but some gyms are harder than others. I tried going to a high-level gym first and got wiped. Learned my lesson and followed the flow based on gym levels. Much smoother!

Not really, but keep in mind that some gyms will hand you your hat if you barge in unprepared. It's open-world for a reason, explore and level up at your own pace!
