Not really! Some automatic rifles like the Soma Prime and Tenora Prime pack quite a punch. It's all about finding the right build and mods.

Yes, some of them are underpowered, but others like the Ignis Wraith can melt enemies if you mod them correctly.

IMO, automatic rifles are pretty decent if you focus on the right mods and upgrades. My favorite is the Amprex.
