Are all Steam games playable on Steam Deck?
RepeatingRitz路7 months agoNot all of them, but a lot! Steam Deck runs on a Linux-based OS, using Proton to play Windows games. While many games work great out of the box, some require tweaks, and others might not run at all due to compatibility issues with Proton or because they use anti-cheat software that's not supported.

Mostly yes, but actually no. There's a tool on Steam called 'Steam Play' that lets many Windows-only games run on Linux and by extension the Steam Deck. But, some games, especially those with heavy DRM or specific anti-cheat tech, might give you trouble.
In short, nope. Not every game on Steam will run on the Steam Deck. It's mainly because of the compatibility issues with the Deck's operating system. But, Valve's constantly working to increase compatibility through Proton, so the list of playable games is always growing!
