Oh yeah, artifacts are totally spells in MTG when you're casting them from your hand. The moment you lay down that mana and bring an artifact into play, you're casting a spell, buddy. That means all those counterspells your opponent has been hoarding can be used to rain on your artifact parade. So, plan accordingly!

Hot take: calling artifacts 'spells' feels weird, but that's MTG for ya. Once it hits the battlefield, it's not a spell anymore, but casting it? 100% spell action.

From personal experience, yes, artifacts are spells when you cast them. Got my best artifact countered last game, and it was a harsh reminder. Always watch out for those sneaky blue mages!

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
